Grace Chapel Ministries is the realization of a vision, from God to a young man Bro. Sam Mannekattil and his family. Lending ears and letting himself to the call of the Lord, Bro.Sam discovered a loving and trustworthy God and Saviour in his life and was able to guide others through his way.

Being pregnant with the Lord’s vision of a town called Kottayam, a land of lakes, letters, latex and lying devil, in the state of Kerala – India, Bro. Sam began to walk and claim the city for Jesus, in faith.

Though he was alone during the initial stage of the mission, God was so gracious to gift him with the company of a dedicated brother, whom we call Sunnichayan (E. J. Mammen), just like Joseph in Egypt sent ahead for his brothers. Bro. E. J. Mammen was so much interested in the vision that was shared with him. As a result of our prayer, co-operation and commitment to the cause, God finally made it possible to start the Grace Chapel Ministries – a charismatic trans-denominational church.

Origin

It was on 8th December 1996 that the Holy Spirit permitted us to start the first worship at The Trade center, a rented small but beautiful auditorium at Sastri Road, Kottayam, with five people namely Bro. Sunny, Bro. Saji, Bro. Sam Mannekattil and the only couple- Bro. Binu and Beena. We worshiped the Lord and shared the Word from 2 Kings 3:16,17 …you shall not see any rain nor any wind but this valley shall be filled with water…. It was a promise from the Lord and He is still faithful with His promise …for the heaven and the earth may pass away but my word shall never be changed….

On the very first day itself we were sure that God has a special plan about this ministry and indeed He had! Greater are His ways that any man in the world could ever imagine…!

Although everything seemed insecure, Bro. Sam was so secure in the hands of the Almighty God. Day after day the Holy Spirit added people to the Church. We allow full freedom to the Ministry of the Holy Spirit and therefore wonders and tremendous changes occur in the lives of people through this ministry.

Mission

• to preach, teach, and live the gospel to and for the unreached millions of the world particularly Asian countries using all possible media
• to establish local churches
• to make disciples (not by compulsion) of Jesus from all ethnic groups irrespective of their caste, colour, creed, religion and philosophy
• to establish counseling centres in different places of India in association with Government agencies or with other like-minded organizations.
• to establish schools in different places giving importance to underprivileged groups
• to start engineering and medical colleges to reach those groups with gospel.

Purpose

Fulfill the call of the Great Master in our generation by preaching and teaching the message of the Kingdom of Jesus at any cost.
