| “If you had come half an hour Early…” |
A few years ago in the northern part of India, three evangelists were distributing the gospel on a riverside. They visited one hut where the mother was crying. They tried to pacify her and they listened her. Her story was heart breaking. For a couple of years her husband was sick. She tried all possible ways for her husband's healing but to no avail. On top of that she lost her three children to some kind of unknown diseases. The fourth child was also affected. Out of her dire situation, she went to an occult practitioner. Financially, he took everything that he could from her. Finally he said, if she would give her last child to the river goddess “Ganga” (Ganges, a famous river in India) she would be free from all her problems. Her life would be smoother. Listening to these words she threw her youngest child into the river. The evangelists shared about Jesus to her. She listened carefully. And Finally with tears replied “ If you had come here half an hour early my daughter would have been saved.” |

As Dr. Paul Pillai mentions in India's search for unknown Christ – There is something very great about this country. Something which cannot be easily explained are the very mystery of her history, the richness of her culture, the awful mass off her superstition, ………………. and her caste system.”

| “India can be awakened to her salvation only through Christ” |
“Awake, O man, the bright dawn is ushered for a new day
The slumber of darkness and night are over
The rosy fingers of dawn have opened before all
The golden gates of the Sun of righteousness
Cleared your path of redeeming glory
May this dawn lead us from this triumph of the divine Spirit
Our mind in true path of Salvation” |
